Feel better… then DANCE!

One of our customers, Amy Kim, is a local dance instructor here in the South Bay area.  Amy is a Line Dance instructor for 3 different dance classes varying in age, difficulty and location.  She has been referring many of her students to our Torrance Shop, for many of them have places of concern while they are dancing.  We were recently able to attend a couple of Amy’s classes to introduce our products to more of her students.  Many of the people in her class were still unaware of Phiten, so they were able to try out our tapes for the first time.  We received much positive feedback from Amy’s students, so we hope to grow much larger within the dancing community.

Phiten Torrance Shop Runs 5k!

Run like the wind!  Well, at least that was our attempt.  On October 10th, there was the 5k Run/Walk & Fitness Expo held at the Promenade on the Peninsula Mall in Rolling Hills, CA.  This run was to help showcase the mall, and also help to benefit the Harbor Area YWCA.

Normally in events like these, we would set up a booth and try to promote and sell our products.  But this time we decided to take a different route (literally).  Our Torrance Shop staff decided to actually participate in this run, and promote our Phiten name by helping out the local businesses in the South Bay area.

Half of us participated in the full run, as the other half participated in the walk and walked around the course with our Phiten Flag.  This was a great way to give our name some publicity while supporting the event.  We were able to talk to other runners about our products and also tell them about our store.  There were runners there who were already wearing our products proudly, and the winner of the run was actually wearing our Mirror Necklace!

We already had customers visit our shop after they saw us at this event.  Hopefully we can do more events like this, so we can make a more personal connection with the public and also let everyone know what Phiten is all about.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis Visits the Phiten Torrance Shop!

Upcoming baseball player, Kirk Nieuwenhuis paid us a visit at the Torrance Shop.  His agent was the one who brought him to the shop.  He browsed through the store because it was actually his first time to visit a Phiten shop, and was excited to see all of our products.

He was drafted by the Mets organization in 2008, and graduated from Azusa Pacific University here in California.  He plays center field, and right now he is working his way up from the minor leagues to be in the majors!  We wish him good luck!

Phiten’s gonna knock you out!

Don’t worry, Phiten isn’t really going to knock anyone out.  We are actually quite harmless and very friendly.

Recently, the Phiten Torrance Shop was fortunate to have a customer who is in the Women’s Amateur Boxing world!  She came into the shop to try our products, and she then later returned with positive results and purchased a few items for herself.

Jason and Nana

Her name is Nana Yoshikawa.  Originating from Japan, she was training around the Southern California area and was a part of the English Factory Gym (Team EFG).  She participated in the 2010 Ringside World Championships and placed 2nd place in the Women’s 119 lbs Division.

Nana likes to use our Phiten Massage Lotion to recover from her rigorous training.  She also used the lotion to recover in between her matches at the World Championships.  She said that the lotion helped her a lot with her success at the World Championships.

As you can see, Phiten is not all about the necklaces and bracelets.  We also have items such as lotions and tapes to help your body deal with your physical stress.  These are just a few ways that Phiten can help you “experience the energy!”

Unique Creations at Phiten Torrance Shop part 3

This is the 3rd post of the “Unique Creations at Phiten Torrance Shop” series.

This is an image of the original Tornado.

Navy and Black Tornado

We were able to figure out a way to make a Tornado using THREE necklaces!  Now you can combine 3 of your favorite colors in a brand new style.

Triple Tornado

To make a Triple tornado, just follow these steps!
1) Follow the instructional blog located Here
2) After completing one Tornado, basically repeat the same steps with the Tornado as the main necklace and the single necklace as the naked one.
Note: the 3rd necklace strand should fit inside the original Tornado.

It’s that simple.  Please note that this necklace is custom made and may not be available to order through our online store.  If you choose to make this yourself, please do so at your own discretion.  If you feel uncomfortable making it yourself, please stop by our shop and we will gladly make it for you.

There is also another way of combining 3 necklaces.  The other way is to Braid the 3 necklaces together.  This is what we call a Triple Braid

Triple Braid

To actually make this is actually simple.  If you can braid hair, you can braid your necklace!  Just follow these steps.

1) Get 3 necklaces.  Make one your main necklace, and carefully remove the clasps and the rubber stoppers from the other 2 necklaces to make 2 naked necklaces.
2) Connect the ends of the 2 naked necklaces to make one big loop.  The loop should simply look like one big letter “O”.  To do this, just sew the 2 ends together with a needle and durable sewing string.  Sew in a circle following the edge of the necklaces.  Be sure to do enough so that the necklaces wont come apart when you slightly pull on them.
3) Now get the main necklace, and put it in between the big loop.  The loop should be just under the main necklace’s rubber stopper.  By doing this, you now have 3 strands.  All you have to do now is braid the 3 necklaces like you are braiding hair.  Before you start, be sure to hide the stitching of the big loop by slightly putting it on the side and not in the center.
4) If done correctly, the end of the necklace should fit in the very last loop you make.  The 2 stitched ends should be hidden under the braid.  And wallah!  You have just finished making your own Triple Braid.

With a little imagination, it is possible to create your own design.  If you have any creative ideas or have made your own creation, please feel free to contact us at torranceshop@phitenusa.com!
